  • Meals:
    • Lunch
    • Social Hour with alcoholic (beer, wine, hard seltzers) and non-alcoholic beverages, snacks and small bites

The OA 30th reunion is not structured to be a profit-making event. The regular ticket price of $60 is our actual cost. Additional notes:

  • This event is rain or shine. As Rodrigo always reminds us, This is The OUTDOOR Academy, not The Indoor Academy!
  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Can I help pay for others to attend?

We are committed to making the OA 30th Reunion as accessible and inclusive as possible for the entire OA community, and we have built a “pay it forward” program that allows you to cover all or part of the cost of someone else’s ticket. Simply add a donation ($15, $30, $60 or $120) on the registration form, and these funds will be allocated to folks who otherwise would not be able to attend the reunion due to financial constraints.

Craft Auction (information about it, how to donate an item, what we’re looking for)

Part of the OA 30th Reunion festivities will be a Craft Auction of handmade goods made by OA alums, family, former and current faculty. These auction items will be displayed for folks who are able to attend the reunion to view, but all bidding will be conducted online so that everyone can participate (view, bid, and even win items).

Want to contribute an item for the auction? Mail your handmade auction item to:

Eagle’s Nest Foundation, attn: Camille Wick
43 Hart Road
Pisgah Forest, NC 28768

Can I attend the reunion if I am under 18 years of age?

All minors (attendees under the age of 18 years old) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the event and/or time on campus.

What this can look like: if you are an alum under 18 years of age, anyone’s parent/guardian could be your chaperone with consent from your parent(s).

What this can NOT look like: you get dropped off by an adult and picked up later; your chaperone must also attend the event. An 18 year old friend CANNOT act as your chaperone.

Chaperones: you are welcome to supervise up to 4 minors and are encouraged to participate in the day’s events. All attendees, including chaperones, are required to purchase a ticket.

Will you be offering lodging on campus?

No. There are many short-term rentals, hotels, and bed and breakfasts close to campus and in neighboring Penrose, Brevard, Hendersonville, Mills River, etc.

Camping is also a great option, and you can make your reservations online through the Forest Service for nearby Davidson River Campground and other group campsites. We recommend making these reservations as soon as possible before they fill up!

What should I bring?
  • Weather appropriate clothing and outer layers. This event is entirely outside (with covered areas).
  • Sturdy and comfortable footwear
  • Work gloves
  • Change of clothes
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Cash/credit card if you would like to purchase anything from the School Store
  • Sun protection of all sorts (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.)
I have an accessibility requirement - am I still able to attend?

Yes! We will do everything in our power to make your experience enjoyable and equitable. Please reach out to Camille at alumni@enf.org so we can further discuss your specific needs and make a plan together.

I have a dietary restriction - can that be accommodated?

We are happy and able to accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions. You will have the opportunity to indicate any needs on the registration form.

I will be in town before April 26th - can I come to campus before Saturday?

We always welcome visitors to campus and would love to see you anytime you are in the area. Semester 60 of The Outdoor Academy will be in full swing this spring, and in order to respect students’ space, we ask that you come to campus on April 26 for the OA 30th and not before or after, unless previously arranged.

Please reach out to Camille at alumni@enf.org to schedule a visit outside of the OA 30th festivities on April 26, 2025.

Will there be alcohol?

Complimentary beer, wine, and hard seltzer will be available for adults 21+ during the Social Hour, Community Dinner, and Square Dance. You will be required to show your ID and be given a wristband to indicate legal drinking age of 21+. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

No outside alcohol permitted.

Are families welcome to join?

Absolutely! The whole family is invited and welcome to attend the OA 30th Reunion. Children 5 years and younger are free to attend, but we ask that you still register them so we have accurate numbers and can collect dietary restrictions.

Can I bring my dog/cat/other animals?

Unfortunately, you need to leave your furry friends at home. Only service animals will be permitted on campus.

Will the School Store be open?

YES! We accept cash, check, and credit cards for swag purchases.

What if I don’t eat the meals or do the activities - do I still have to purchase a ticket?

Every participant must purchase a ticket before the event in order to be part of the festivities. If you are on campus in any capacity, you have to have a ticket. If you are unable to afford the ticket cost, please reach out to alumni@enf.org – we will do everything possible to alleviate financial barriers that would prevent you from attending the event.
